So I've read that LJ has given an official 'okie dokie' to pro-ana, saying that it was a help group and we shouldn't say bad things about it... in fact we shouldn't even bother going ot that community if we don't like what happens there. Riiight. Because it's a help group. Right. That's why a recent post from one of the members asks the membership if not eating will give her a miscarriage since she figures it's too late to use a plan-b pill. That is obviously a good thing whereas people writing porn about fictional characters is bad and evil. Way to go LJ! I would laugh if it wasn't so sad that there are a bunch of people starving themselves and giving each other self-congratulatory pats on the back for having gone 5 days with only "a tiny bite of steak" to help raise metabolism.
I honestly went to the site to see if it was a help group. I went through 5 days of postings (oh my God but the teenage angst and valley girl spelling. We could write for years on this shite!) and didn't find a single person trying to Stop someoe from doing something dumb. Not one person thought it was a bad idea that possibly pregnant chick was going to stop eating to try and abort. No one said "Hey! It might not be a healthy thing to not menstrate for 12 months. that could be a sign something is really wrong". I didn't even seen someone say "Stop trying to find a way to make your hair grow back artifically... it'll grow if you eat!". But for some reason, this is all OK by LJ.
Ok... so if I hadn't gone to the site, I wouldn't be offended. check. Can we have the reverse policy as well please? if you don't like reading porn, then don't. If you can't handle the words, then take note of the warnings. If you don't want us around, then fine - it's you website and we'll leave. But we are going to point out that you are the biggest hyprocrites to ever walk the Earth. Your TOS explicity details that you won't accept self harm or the harming of others. You warp that to include fictional others, but then you are afraid to apply it to real life humans. Humans that are killing themselves and don't even realize it. Humans that are aiding and abetting others to kill themselves, and to go to new extremes to do so. It makes me feel ill.
Evidentally I need a holiday, cause my brain still sees two males screwing as Hawt and Good, where it sees killing babies and losing hair due to malnutrition as a bad thing. efinitely time to leave LJ. I always thought I was a rather moral person if a bit cracked, and I have a very hard time going to a site that will allow such things behind the scenes.
